Since we last saw Candy, she had made her way back out to the San Francisco area. Right now she was seen cozied up on the couch of her hotel room with her laptop on her lap. Her eyes are focused as she watched herself on the screen.
“With Screamfest right around the corner, I thought I’d take a look back at some of my previous matches.”
As the footage rolls on before her eyes, she is seen going toe to toe with Avery Miles III. It was a very back and forth match but in the end it was Avery picking up the win after catching her off guard with a Springboard DDT.
“That was a pretty heartbreaking moment for me. It was my first opportunity at gold and I came up short. But overall, I was still pretty pleased with my performance. For as green as I was, I made it further in that tournament than anyone thought I would. And figured I’d learn from it and be ready the next time around.”
Candy hit a few buttons on the keyboard before the next match came up on the screen. Avery and Candy were back at it again. This time the championship was on the line and Candy was a bit more aggressive in hopes of getting it. She definitely came prepared for the fight. On numerous occasions it looked as if she had it. But in the end, Avery put her down with a corkscrew neckbreaker and followed it up with a Shooting Star Press to walk away with the win.
“Only the next time came and it didn’t turn out much differently than the first. As you can see, experience paid off once again. I was pinned for a second time. No excuses, either. Avery just happened to be the better man that night.”
As Candy cued up the next match, we see Candy trying her hand at Tag Team wrestling in 4CW’s one night tournament known as Bad Company II. Her team came out of the gate swinging. Made a good attempt at making it to the second round. But Candy was blindsided in the end and taken down by Kat Jones.
“Even with a tag team partner at my side, I couldn’t get it right. I ended up falling victim to my opponent’s finisher and that was that. It was another one of my shortcomings in the books!”
Candy sighed and shook her head just thinking about it as some clips of her from Epic Online Wrestling came on the screen.
“And finally after months of struggling, I found my bearings and things started to turn around for me. I won my debut match and I was well on my way to getting a win over the Atlantic Champion. But before I got the chance to do so, the company decided to close it’s doors. So really what’s a girl to do now?”
Candy questioned as she set her laptop aside and shifted on the couch to look into the camera for the first time.
“Now I suppose I could’ve returned home and cried a river. But where would that get me? So instead I came home and searched high and low for a place to go. Which is what brings me to here and now in RSW. I decided this was the place I needed to be to leave my mark on the wrestling business. So here I am. And now that I’m here, I’m not about to take a backseat to anyone. Been there, done that. I’m tired of it.”
At this point, Candy looked and sounded pretty determined as she went on.
“So at Screamfest, I’m going to come out of the gate swinging and go through anyone that is standing in my way. I don’t care how big or strong they are or what they have in store for me even. Sure, I expect I'll be knocked down. But that doesn't mean I'm going to stay that way. Where there's a will, there's a way. And I will keep getting up to find the very way that will lead me straight to one of those briefcases."
Her eyes remained locked on the camera as she continued speaking in a serious tone.
"There comes a time in everyone's career when all the struggles and roadblocks they've endured finally pay off. A time when they are due for a break. This is one of those times. And it will belong to me!", she nodded, "One of those briefcases already has my name on it, the rest of you just don't know it yet. But I'll prove it to you in a couple of days time."
Candy have the camera quite the look. You can tell that she meant every word of what she was saying as she reached forward and turned the camera off to end the scene.
