Screamfest was her one and only chance and she was watching it drift away. Mondae had spent the last six days alone in a prison cell trapped inside her own head and being tormented by Detective Morgan. Any sliver of hope was gone. She wasn't going to make it to Screamfest and it was devastating. Everyone in her life had let her down, even Ari. Shawn DeLise probably knew all about her prison stint and didn't lift a fucking finger to help. This was where she would rot.
The defeated Queen was curled up in a ball in the far corner of her cell. Her knees were pulled to her chest and she was rocking back and forth slowly. At this point she was nothing more than smudged eyeliner, matted hair and shattered dreams.
The door at the far end of the hall opened and as Mondae looked up the sun shone brightly in her eyes. A figured approached her but her eyes hadn't adjusted yet. It wasn't until she stood in front of the bars of the cell that the teen recognized the face of her idol, her true mother-figure: Daryl Fallon. She was pretty sure she was hallucinating until Daryl spoke.
"Get up kid. We don't have much time. Screamfest is in 2 hours and I sure as hell didn't come all this way to watch my dipshit son retain that title. This is what I've trained you for your entire life. This is your chance and I know you're going to finally feel that victory you deserve. I posted your bail and already have your gear in my car. Get up."
The murderess couldn't hide her shock, her jaw slightly ajar. Through the feelings of defeat and despair, Mondae picked herself up off of the floor and got to her feet. Because that's what had always done: fight.

Daryl drove like a maniac to ensure that they made it to Screamfest. It was an hour before the show when they pulled into the parking lot. The former cannibal whipped open her door but Mondae hesitated. Spending six days alone had taken its toll on her. Her head was swimming with doubt. Was missing the show really worse than going out there and being humiliated all over again?
Daryl looked back at her daughter-from-another-mother.
"C'mon, you gotta get in there."
"I.. I don't know if I can do this. What if I can't pull it out? What if I walk out there and the entire world laughs at me as one of these assholes pin my fucking shoulders to the mat? How will I live with myself?" Shock spread across Daryl's face. Seeing Mondae vulnerable was not something anyone was accustomed to.
"How will you live with yourself if you don't try? We all feel it. No matter how big you get, you still have crippling doubt in the back of your mind. It's because you're smart and you've analyzed the situation. You know this isn't going to be easy. And it won't be. This will be the fight of your fucking life Money. You will go out there and you will give every ounce of yourself to this match. And that's more than I can say about most. Lord doesn't have the drive you do. Archer doesn't even care about this title. But they'll give you a run for your money and that's fine. Because through all the doubt and the obstacles, I know you've got it. I know that you are my best creation. Maybe I didn't give birth to you, but I see myself in you and just like I eliminated Adam Blake in War Games, I know you will eliminate Lord tonight."
Daryl's words were touching but Mondae's doubt wasn't going away that easily. "I know this is going to be the fight of my life. I know they aren't going to make this easy for me. It's never easy. I go out there and I put my body and life on the line because this is who I am, this is what I've trained for. But for all Lord and Archer's faults, they've gotten this far. Lord is dumb as a bag of rocks, but inside that ring he's aware of his surroundings. He hits hard and he keeps his shit together. Archer is going to make us all bleed and relish in our pain. He has the endurance, stamina and focus to do it. Maybe it's too much. Maybe I can't overcome this."
Her eyes fell to the floor. She was disgusted in herself for feeling this way. "Look at me." Daryl's voice was stern and motherly as Mondae glanced up at her idol.
"You are Mondae Chaos. This is who you are. You don't take it for granted like Lord. You have more experience than him. As smart as Lord is, you aren't far behind. And remember, Raven will be out there and that is his weakness. You take her out, you threaten her and all of a sudden Lord's focus is elsewhere. You know when it comes down to it, she is more important than that title to him." Daryl scoffed. Some would admire this quality, she found it deplorable. "That's your strength: that title is your life."
"Don't sell yourself short. You are the best technical athlete in this match, you are a submission queen and you are fast as fuck. Neither of them have the speed you do. You will run circles around both of them. Lord will get winded because he's too busy drinking to train and Archer will get annoyed, which will cause him to lose his composure. And when he loses it, you will capitalize." As Daryl spoke, Mondae began to feel more sure of herself, to feel her confidence rising.
"This is your match to lose and I know you want this more than anyone. I know that you will go out there and you will have backup and you will push through the pain and the agony and pull this out. Just remember, Archer may have more endurance and stamina than you but you 're smart. Let them wear themselves out. Watch as Archer picks Lord apart and once their both wounded, that's when you strike. This is a triple threat match. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to sit and watch your opponents do the dirty work for you. Use your brain and you'll do fine. They're both still recovering from what you did at Vendetta. Who knows if Archer even is as violent as he was before your devastating blow. You're fresh, you're one-hundred percent. I know that this is your night. Look at this way, even his own mother doesn't think he will win, why should anyone else?"
Daryl laughed and Mondae couldn't help but smiling. It was kind of funny that even Lord's own mother hated him.
"You've always had my back, Daryl. And you're right. I'm going to step into that arena and take what is rightfully mine. This match will go down as the greatest match of my career, the night that Mondae Chaos became the Supreme Champion." She couldn't help smile at the thought.
"Go get 'em kid."
