"I have narcolepsy. This is not a ruse. This is not someone trying to gain an advantage on me. This is not good. I have a disorder. One that they've yet to cure, and can only hope to treat. But even with treatment I can't guarantee I won't fall asleep right in the middle of a match. I can't guarantee I won't fall asleep before a match and never even make it there. This has to stop. This can't go on anymore. I have a very tough decision to make here and I'm looking to your for some guidance, some push-in-the-right-direction maybe."
Arthur Thomas lay on a couch you'd only see in a psychiatrist's office while laying on a couch in a psychiatrist's office.
"What do you feel this tough choice is?"
“I suppose either electric shock therapy or hypnosis... Doc, can you like, hypnotize me to keep me awake?”
“No. I can't do either of those things.”
“So, what do you think you can do for me doc? I'm trying to get this wrestling thing down. Help me out. I have to stay awake.”
“I'm not sure if there's much I can do for you. Narcolepsy isn't something that can be cured by talking about it, and that's what I'm here for. But why are you seeking me out? Why do you think I can help you?”
“Because I really thought you'd be able to hypnotize me and keep me from falling asleep during or even before my matches. Maybe have me fall asleep AFTER my match?”
“I'm sorr-”
Arthur Thomas stood up and just walked out.
“What am I going to do?!”
He left the building and just looked around the city hoping an answer would show itself and solve this issue. Nothing did this. He was left as lost and confused as already. His dream holding on by a thread and all he needed to do was just stay awake! It wasn't even asking a lot.
“I've got a match against a guy named Archer, I've done no research for it. I don't know who I'm fighting, and hell it doesn't even matter! I can't stay awake for it to mean a damn thing. FUCK!”
Arthur kicked a leaf that was blowing along the ground. It didn't go very far and didn't really satisfy his need to be angry.
“Here I am, awake as can be. And no wrestling match until Saturday. But the match comes and I'm out either before or right at the most important part.. DURING IT. I just need the answer. It's got to be something that can help me in just that moment over come this. Wait...”
A stroke of genius must have come right across Arthur's face by the look of it. He looked like he finally had the answer... But there was two problems... Three if you count the legal implications that might come from it.
