LARSEN INTERNATIONAL CO.
“Tell me my good sir, where would one find your spandex?”
Miles Larsen, dressed in khaki slacks and a white button down shirt which was tucked in, asked the store clerk at a local Sporting store. This store carries merchandise and equipment ranging from football to soccer to baseball and everything in between. The store clerk looks a little puzzled, but the expression on Miles’ face is stone. He was dead serious as he waited for the answer.
“Um..Spandex? Sir, I think you’re in the wrong store. This is a sporting goods and apparel store.” the store clerk replied. Miles didn’t look too impressed with his response, offering one right back to the young lad, reading his name tag out loud. “Dennis, this is for a professional wrestling match. And that, sir, is a sport. So I’m in need of spandex. Be it trunks, shorts or a singlet. Preferably we can add the letters M.L. on there somewhere, you know like Ric Flair used to wear.”
The store clerk shook his head again, “N-No we don’t have that sir. I can offer you MMA shorts?” He said, pointing to an area behind Miles. Miles’ head turned and his eyes followed the clerk’s finger. “Hmmm. No that won’t work. I’m a traditionalist, you see, so I’m going to need something that falls into the previously mentioned category.” Miles said turning back to Dennis.
Before Dennis could reply, his eye catches the gorgeous blonde that walks into the scene. Lauren Parker dressed professionally as always approaches Miles and the look on her face is a mixture of shock and embarrassment. “I didn’t think you were actually serious about finding spandex, Miles.” Miles turned to his assistant and Larsen International Co. employee, “Of course I’m serious, Lauren. When have you known me to ever not be serious?” he asked, and it was a fair question. Lauren didn’t even respond to it because he was right.
“Miles this is ridiculous. You are absolutely crazy if you think of climbing into the ring with Bryce. He’s highly trained, he has a vicious mean streak and if he could do what he did to ZERO just imagine what he will do to you if you climb into the ring with him.” Miles nodded his head, knowing that Lauren had a solid point.
“You’re a hundred percent right, Lauren. He’s a highly trained wrestling machine and he’s going to suplex me to kingdom come. I never said that I was going to beat him, did I Lauren? The contract in place states that someone under my guidance has to be present in the ring or we’re all subject to termination. So in order to save our jobs, I have to do what is necessary.”
“I didn’t know that part of it. … Well, I appreciate you doing what needs to be done in order for us to keep our jobs, but sacrificing your health and well being for us isn’t necessary. We’ll find another company to work fo…”
“No need to, Lauren. We’re staying at RSW and this little match is just a mishap. I have complete faith that ZERO will be back before the match and I won’t have to step into the ring. Although, I am ready. I just need to find spandex…”
He tore his eyes from Lauren and looked around the store, trying to locate the area where spandex trunks would be. Lauren sighed a heavy sigh, shaking her head that she was actually going to give into Miles’ ridiculous plan. “Miles, there is no spandex here. And besides, you’re looking for wrestling tights. And odds are you will need them custom made. We have a few days, I can maybe look into setting that up.”
Miles turned to Lauren, impressed with her gumption. “Well. Alright then. That saves time there.” … “Yes it does, and time is something you surely need. I’ll call Issak to meet us at the facility to help get you ready.”
Miles was going to need all of the help he could get in order to be ready for this. Bryce was almost guaranteed to introduce Miles to Actual, Literal Death - but Miles wasn’t going to back down.
