Crazy Take Two

“I said I would win. And that is exactly what I did. Emma Douglas may want to cheapen my win. I came away with the win in the match. It was a Triple Threat match. I had an opportunity to win, and took it. If she did the same, she would make the same case. I am sure I will get a one-on-one shot at her in due time. But for now, it is on to bigger things.”
We open as Zachary Knight is sitting on the edge of a weight bench. He is holding a lead pipe in his hand, as he raises and lowers it to his free hand making a tapping sound. The camera maintains its focus on The Legacy.
“It can take a three count. It can take a submission. Or for those that are not strong enough to let their skills speak for themselves, it can take a lead pipe.”
Zach smiles to the camera, and tosses the pipe off camera as it clangs around and rolls, finally rolling to a stop.
“Match one is done and in the books; and I have proved just what I said. I won the match. And yet while giving me a chance to become a number one contender, the brass have decided me to face yet another chick that is out of her mind. Sometimes, it is the ones that do less talking are the ones that we need to worry more about. It seems like my second RSW match will come against Violet Van Zant. The ‘Oregon Gangster’ herself.”
He chuckles to himself.
“I am a Legacy athlete. A third generation talent. And you? A gangster from Oregon? That is like claiming you are Detroit Rich.”
He shakes his head and smirks, in a cocky manner.
“Let’s get down to brass tacks. In terms of RSW we are on a similar path; we are both winner in our debuts matches, though I didn’t need to cheat. And we find ourselves booked against one another at Vendetta VI, with a chance at the Bay Area Championship. But that is where the similarities end. I’ve gotten myself to this point based upon what I do inside of the ring, and within the rules. And don’t give me the old ‘A win is a win is a win charade. You, I, and the rest of the world knows that people that lack skill or talent are forced to cheat to win. A true champion or winner would be able to do it with their own talent. You know, I almost feel bad you having to match up with me in your second match; because there is zero chance that you will be defeating me. Just as I told Bella Swan last week, you are a speed bump in my path to holding gold. Whether you want it or not, I am your opponent and a loss if your only choice of an outcome.”
He stands up, brushing off his arms.
“This match? No. This card? No. No. This company? It will soon be The Legacy’s company. You will see. Emma already saw it. The whole roster will see.”
He pauses.
“Especially her. She will see.”
The video comes to an abrupt end.

OFF CAMERA
“So you got the win?”
“I did.”
Zachary sits at the dining room table, eating a plate of spaghetti and meatballs.
“Dinner good?”
He nods.
“Mmhmm.”
“Elbows, Zachary! Where are your manners?”
He realizes and takes his elbows off of the table before she swats him with a wooden spoon, or whatever other utensil is near her.
“Sorry, ma.”
“Sorry is right. You need to stop acting like a child.”
“Well you need to stop treating me like one!”
She stands up.
“Excuse me?”
He drops the fork to his plate.
“Nothing.”
“Nothing is right. Clean your plate and go take a shower. You need to be up early. You have a big chance in less than two weeks. You need to be prepared. And hopefully you can also make a statement to that… that… that girl.”
“She has a name, it’s Sa-”
“I don’t care what her name is. You and I both know what she did to your grandfather. Do I need to remind-”
“No, mother.”
“Good. Now do as your mother wishes and stop being difficult.”
“Fine.”
Zachary takes his plate into the kitchen and heads upstairs.
