A Couple Hours After Vendetta
Zoey Laine Summers stands outside the lockerroom belonging to Lord Blake and Raven MacDemare, ready to make the most out of TJ Andrews’ absence. She definitely wants to get the first comments from Lord about the attack Mondae Chaos launched on her opponents for Scream Fest. Despite the fact Lovey’s lockerroom door is slightly ajar, she goes to knock. The sound of the couple talking stops her.
Lovey are talking.
“I don't understand how you could just let her blackmail you like that,” Raven is saying. “All we had to do was just go to Mr. Barassi and he would have helped us. That apology was ridiculous.”
“I was trying to protect you, Rave. Do you think I care how that made me look? I would go to the ends of the Earth for you.”
Lord sounds exhausted.
“And I love you for that but it's not worth it.”
“I did what I felt was right. I can't take it back. Let's just move on and get focused for Scream Fest and the weekend. Tomorrow we need to go to the caterer’s and order everything for College Gameday. I want to have everyone over to watch Auburn murder the Razorbacks.”
“Ummmm, you know I’m driving to Los Angeles tonight, right? Amber and I are leaving for Charlotte tomorrow.”
“Y'all are still doing that? Scream Fest will be here before we know it and you have a huge opportunity there. We don't have Hailey to get you ready for these matches anymore. You need to stick around here. You’re facing a million other people.”
“Thirteen other people, and of course we’re still doing that. Amber’s tryout is Tuesday. She’s always wanted to be a professional cheerleader.”
“And she has to go all the way to Charlotte to do this? She can’t tryout for the Rams or something?”
“She wants to cheer for Panthers. Not to mention she could be on the field next week since Tashia quit. Tashia never really got over Josh Norman going to the Redskins. I totally think they were banging.”
“Ugh. Fuck Josh Norman and his stupid, amazing defensive skills. Rave, you need to be here to work on your defense. You know you’re the quickest person in the match, but it’s full of strikers and mat wrestlers.”
“Babe, my cardio is what helped me outlast Emma Douglas earlier tonight. She’s one of the hardest hitters on the roster and she couldn’t pin me or make me quit. Three other people in the battle royal hit harder than her, but none of them have an aerial attack game. In fact, there’s like six other people in the match besides me who don’t mind ladder matches or extreme situations, but some of those can’t deal with multi-people matches very well. The rest either dislike heights or are super traditional. They will have nothing. Strikers and technicians are at a disadvantage. They won’t be in their element. A ladder match is perfect for someone like me because I don’t need submission skills or perfect suplexes. It plays to my strengths and I really feel like I will get one of those briefcases!”
“Ugh but still. Just Skype Amber on Tuesday. We'll clear out room in the basement so you can show her like, high kicks and stuff. Anything to keep you here. This isn't like Deception where you didn't have a choice but to leave. I need you in San Francisco before your battle royal.”
“No.”
Zoey takes note of the long, awkward silence that seems to follow Raven saying ‘no’ to Lord.
“No?”
“That’s what I said. This was planned out before Scream Fest and I’m not going to let my sister down. Not everything is about your needs, Lord.”
There’s another long, awkward silence.
“What does ‘no’ even mean?”
A sigh is heard.
“Google it, Lord.”
Zoey decides that now is not a good time to interrupt Lovey. She quietly tiptoes away from the door and the scene fades out.

It’s a gorgeous and sunny Sunday afternoon in Charlotte, North Carolina. Raven is at Bank of America stadium and she seems excited to see her team play today despite the fact they’re 1-5 on the season. She’s wearing a Luke Kuechly jersey that she’s fastened into a very short dress, black knee socks, and combat boots. A pair of large sunglasses cover her face. Despite the fact it’s game day, the stadium is completely empty sans the people who work there. Because of who Raven is, the stadium personnel have allowed her onto the field and she is currently standing on the 50-yard line.
“I love this place so much! The hardest decision I’ve ever made was to step away from the TopCats and follow my fiance into wrestling. I can’t stand here and say that it's been an easy road, because it hasn’t. Violet Intent, Jackson Kendrick, MGM, and Shawn DeLise have done everything they can to make sure Lord and I don’t succeed in RSW. We’ve managed despite all of that and not only is Lord the RSW Supreme Champion, but I have a chance to forge my own destiny.
The battle royal that will open the show is a ladder match. Hanging above the ring will be four briefcases that have prizes inside of them selected by the fans of RSW. To me, this is possibly the match of the night. It’s full of past champions from former promotions and hungry, eager people like me. I’m excited to show the world what I can bring to the table against all this other amazing talent.
I’m pretty sure most of my opponents will look at my record and scoff. They will write me off and focus on the bigger names. So be it. Non-traditional matches put everyone on an even playing field. I’m not naive enough to believe experience won’t play a factor, but I’m confident enough to know that my odds of walking out of Scream Fest with my very own prize are as good as any.”
Amber Fletcher enters the picture.
“What are you doing out here?”
“Getting ready for the game and Scream Fest hype! You know how everyone is discrediting the Panthers because they’re one and five this season?”
“Yeah.”
“Well everyone is going to overlook me, Ambz. I just know it. Back in 2014, the Panthers won their division with a record of seven wins, eight losses, and one weird tie. They didn’t have to be undefeated or the best at whatever. They scratched and clawed their way to their victories and used hard work and determination. I have no doubt I can do just that come Scream Fest. I could get a title shot!”
“That’s great and I believe in you, but literally why are you dressed to watch a game?”
“Because the Panthers are playing later.”
“Rave, the Panthers are on a bye this week. There is no game.”
“Oh.”
/End.
