Remember The Name
Issak Otto knew that something had to give, and soon. He had come into RSW with a name to live up to. He had won medals in his past, made a switch over to the States, and walked out of his first match with his hand raised. He had a promising career in front of him, and was planning on making the most of it. Then, a loss, and another loss, and suddenly he found himself on a downward slope after being embroiled in what seemed to be a never-ending war. One with twists and turns that continue twisting and turning until the very end. All fueled by his fit of revenge.
"Hello all in RSW, my name is Issak Otto, I represent the Larsen International Coalition, and I'm thee best technical submission artist in the RSW today!"
It was a very big declaration, considering the other superb submissionist that reside within RSW. Issak's voice comes through a black screen, followed by the loud sound of crashing pool balls. Issak appears to be alone, pool cue in hand, and a nice spread upon the pool table. Issak smiled at the outcome.
"I thought it may be important to mention that at this point in time, because with so many new people joining Ready Set Wrestle, there may be someone watching that isn't quite sure who I am. You know, I sure am glad that RSW is growing all the time, it's blossomed into a mighty red rose since the first time I signed my contract. I welcome any and all newcomers, it wasn't long ago that I was having my first match here. I appreciate the opportunities RSW has always given us as roster members, especially in this match at Scream Fest."
"You new guys have it pretty easy, you already have a huge opportunity in front of you! Four briefcases to choose from, thirteen people, and any one of them could contain a title shot! Your first match and you could be challenging for a championship title by your second match! What a time we live in!"
"But I suppose the new people aren't the only people I said it for. I also said it for all you others out there in RSW Land that think they know what Issak Otto is about. I'm sure there's people looking at me who think I won't be able to pull this ladder match off, that I won't walk out with a briefcase. Even some of you new people, you take a look at my record and you don't see anything special. You take a look at me, a short mustachioed bandit, and you think you can take me out. That's fine. No harm, no foul... I think I've heard the Americans say before, right?"
"And you know, I almost started thinking the same thing about myself. I have a losing record, I'm nothing much..."
Issak shook his head in a sort of defeated way. He leaned in, lining up a bank shot and released. The cue hit between two balls, both separating and going in separate corners, on it's way to hitting a third ball in.
"But then I remembered the actual matches that took place. I dominated in my very first match, and my opponent tapped. My second match was a Japanese deathmatch, in which I was forced to fight my own partner. I lost, to the future Absolute Champion. My third match was a tag team, against the current Absolute Champion, and a girl who has somehow only managed to lose to our Supreme Champion himself. I may have more losses than wins, but my caliber of opponent has gone way up. I lost, but I lost to some of the best that RSW has to offer."
"This ladder match has the opportunity to launch the next person to the top of the main event, and I want that person to be me. I've already faced people like Bryce Albright, Arianny DeLise, and I did pretty well holding my own. I want to represent LIC in a match for the Bay Area Championship! Any of those briefcases would be amazing!"
"When I came here, I walked in with a confidence in myself and my abilities. I know exactly what I can do and what I came here for. It was only the drama of Bryce Albright, and Shawn DeLise that has had me distracted. Now that ZERO has his match against Bryce, I'm going to do my best to earn a title shot of my own. With each step I make up one of those ladders, I'm going to envision my career in RSW, and me taking steps up the metaphorical ladder."
Again Issak took some time in silence to access the balls on the table. With one single swoop again, he slices one ball that ends up hitting a second and then sinking in a pocket. The second ball hits a third, and the pair of them continue to the same pocket.
"Pool isn't so big in Sweden, but I always loved the game. I'm good, no?"
He laughed as he hit his seventh ball in.
"Our ladder match competitors, don't think I haven't noticed you. Ones like Candice Turner, Raven MacDemare, even The Cruz, I know you're out to prove yourselves. I know you're the ones that will make sure this match is one of the best in RSW history. I'm happy to share the ring with you. But people like Chris Callum, Alexis Terry, and especially Emma Douglas, I feel a little nervous about. They seem a little rough around and edges, and Emma has even said she's mainly out to hurt people in this match. Seems like they're playing cutthroat, when we should be playing 8-ball. I know all of you will keep my hands full, but I'm going to use my technical skills to get me the win here. I know making someone submit would be irrelevant, but I can surely keep them from continuing in the match altogether."
"Then, we have a man like Judas Hernandez competing in this match. Judas, given from your answer to TJ earlier in the week, and the fact that you didn't even mention LIC in your promo, I'm lead to believe you attacked ZERO and I for no good reason! I'm going to make sure you don't walk out with any of these briefcases at Scream Fest. You started something on Vendetta that you didn't think you'd have to finish. Surprise, Judas, you're going to have to deal with the consequences!"
"As for everyone else in the ladder match who hasn't spoken up just yet, get ready! If you want to take advantage of this match, you better wakeup and pay attention soon if you want to stand a chance. Scream Fest will see all of LIC victorious, and RSW will finally begin to get to know The Class Act; Issak Otto!"
Issak leans in, lining up another tricky bank shot, but taking the time to get it just right. He releases, a slow shot, but it hits the cushion where it needs to, bouncing off and hitting the 8-ball in as needed.
