Mondae Chaos was the new RSW Supreme Champion.
As she looked up, the referee was holding the championship in front of her. It was so surreal that if 50,000 people weren’t watching, she would have pinched herself. Overwhelmed was the only way to describe how she felt. This is what she had worked for since she was fifteen years old. Granted, that may only be four years, but to be the most dominant superstar in the company at the ripe age of nineteen felt pretty fantastic.
Mondae took the title in her hands hugged it tightly to her chest. This was hers. She could now proudly say that she was the best of the best and no one could doubt her. Because she fought tooth and nail to win this title. Jimmie Barassi had banned everyone from ringside thanks to Archer and Lord’s bitching and guess what? It didn’t matter. Mondae didn’t need anyone to help her. She was enough on her own and no matter how many dirty tricks she had pulled in the past, nothing could overshadow this victory.
The champion got to her feet and raised her hands in the air, holding her title up high. The Arena erupted in screams and cheers (okay and maybe some boo’s, but whatever). Chris Chaos was sitting front row. He let his daughter have a few moments of glory before sliding into the ring himself. He raised his daughter’s hand in the air and they both beamed at each other. Chris had never experienced a more proud moment. Holding his daughter’s hand after her first championship win was everything to him.
Mondae threw the title over her shoulder and patted it. “This is mine! I’m the fucking champ!” she screamed. That was the last thing the cameras saw as Screamfest faded to black.
The father-daughter duo slid out of the ring and Chris headed over the barricade back to his seat. Daryl Fallon was standing next to Chris and Mondae couldn’t help but lean over and embrace her second-mom. They shared a hug and Daryl whispered “I knew you had it in you,” in Mondae’s ear. Mondae smiled.
She parted with her family and headed back up the ramp, stopping to raise her title into the air multiple times. As the new champion came through the curtain Arianny Blake and Jace O’Brien were waiting for her, as tradition.
Ari had high hopes that now that Mondae had won, her rage would dissipate. She forced a smile across her perfect face. “Congrats Money, you did it!” She squealed with excitement. Mondae was stone-faced as she glared at her bestie.
“Perfect night to cap off the best fucking week of my life.”
“Money.. I didn’t know.” She pouted.
“It doesn’t matter Ari. Your husband knew. You’re the one that married him and brought him into our lives and he was content to let me fucking rot. Just a stand-up guy. It wasn’t even for the better of the company because a main event between Lord and Archer would have been just as boring as last time. He put his petty rage before his business acumen and any pretend feelings he has for you.” Ari tried to interject but Mondae was pacing now, ranting. This had been building up since her arrest. “Do you know what it’s fucking like, Ari? To sit alone in that jail cell for days? Six fucking days I sat there with not a single visitor. You ignored me, you abandoned me and didn’t think fucking twice while you screened my calls. I would do anything for you. I would die for you and you couldn’t even pick up the fucking phone or notice that it was strange you hadn’t seen or heard from me in days!”
‘Pretend feelings’ stung. It was no secret that Shawn and Arianny had been growing closer together, by some twisted fucked up sense of fate. Mondae was probably right, though. Arianny’s whole life was one big lie at this point so Shawn acting like he gave a shit probably was too.
As far as the situation with the Mean Girls went, truth be told, Arianny hadn’t noticed. Shawn had hijacked her phone and kept it from her for most of the week. He had been salty about her night out with MGM, and it had simply been his petty attempt to punish her. The times her phone had actually been in her possession, her phone calls and text messages to Mondae had gone unreturned as well. But why bring that up? Mondae was content to paint Arianny as a villainess in this situation.
She could have told her truth just then. Arianny could have confessed that she had nearly miscarried her baby a few days ago. She could have told Mondae that the Blakes had been in town and Katt had done nothing but give interview after interview to anyone who would listen as to why her own daughter was a piece of shit. Hell, she could have told Mondae that Shawn had fired her and tried to keep her from representing MGM at Scream Fest.
She could have told Mondae that Shawn was controlling and had her backed into a corner because he had a video he was willing to release to the world of Mondae killing Joe DeLise. Arianny could have told her best friend of forever that part of her had already died in order to protect Mondae.
But Arianny said none of that. Instead, she turned off her feelings, something she did so damn well, and folded her arms across her chest.
“You're right.”
“No kidding.”
“I’m a shitty best friend. Shawn’s ‘pretend’ feelings for me clouded my judgment and I didn't bother to ask him if he knew what was going on.” Arianny’s voice was flat. “I guess since everything is out in the open now, and you know exactly what type of person I am, you don't have to concern yourself with anything involving my husband and I any longer. You don't need me anyway, Mondae. You went out there, wearing your heart on your sleeve, and got your championship on your own. I certainly couldn't help you. I couldn't even defeat Lord. I couldn't win the Deathcore Championship on my own. But you, you did it. I'm happy for you. Truly. You're the best wrestler in this company. I look forward to watching your reign quietly behind the scenes.”
Arianny paused and went to remove herself from the scene, but held up a finger.
“Just one more thing though,” Arianny looked right into Mondae’s eyes. “For every single part of me that is sorry for failing you, there’s a matching piece that is grateful for everything you've done for me.”
With that, Arianny turned on her heels and walked off.
Mondae could feel the rage washing over her. She knew that Ari was just being passive aggressive, but it still made her want to hit the blond. “Is this what you want? To be some fucking stepford wife?!” The raven-haired bitch screamed down the hallway at her bestie. “You’re letting him win!” Arianny kept her head forward and didn’t look back.
Shawn DeLise had wanted to tear the Mean Girls apart since day one. He wanted to isolate his perfect wife and keep her away from Mondae. Ari let him do it. The real feeling that was engulfing Mondae was jealousy. Arianny was her best friend. She was her other half and when push came to shove they were supposed to pick each other every single time.
Mondae had always showed up for Ari. She held off Seth Daniels while Arianny escaped the cage in their only tag match in Deathcore. Later that night when they fought for the Deathcore Championship, Mondae put Jenna Ellis in her submission so that Arianny could climb the ladder and become the first and only Deathcore champion. But when Mondae was in need, Arianny didn’t show up. Mondae didn’t do feelings and here she was, screaming them from the rooftops and Arianny walked away.
Mondae was Meredith Grey, asking her person to choose her, pick her, love her and instead Arianny just walked away. She chose Shawn.
“She was supposed to chose me.” The queen muttered under breath. Jace O’Brien, who was standing awkwardly by while this transpired walked over and placed his hand on the small of her back. Mondae took a deep breath and pushed to urge to cry away, swallowing her feelings.
“C’mon love. We’ve got a photo shoot to get to.” Mondae simply nodded and allowed Jace to guide her down the hallway.
/End.
