RSW Wrestling, Arianny DeLise, and 2 more like this

"Your honour, I would like to call Mondae Devereaux to the stand." Larry McCoy, stood before the court in a perfectly tailored suit. His short blond hair was coifed to perfection and a charming smile plastered across his face. Mr. McCoy was the best lawyer that money could buy.
The defendants, sitting at the table next to him were easily recognizable as the most recent RSW acquisitions, Mondae Chaos and Arianny Blake. Mondae Chaos was barely recognizable as she got to her feet to take the stand. Her long black hair was pulled back into the chicest bun we had ever seen. It matched perfectly with her black pencil skirt, flowy light pink blouse and modest black heels. This may be the first time we had ever seen Mondae Chaos not completely dressed in black. Even her make-up was toned down in a beautiful no-makeup makeup kind of way (no smoky eye here).
She gave an innocent smile to the judge and jury as she took her seat. Mondae was a master manipulator and knew that in order to get herself and Arianny out of this sticky situation, she would have to put on the show of her lifetime. This would literally be the biggest lie that she ever told and if no one believed her, her and her bestie may end up behind bars for a very long time. No matter how confident she looked, Mondae knew this was a crap shoot.
"Ms. Devereaux, can you please tell your profession to the court." Larry asked.
"I am a professional wrestler." She smiled sweetly back.
"And were you signed to the ultra-violent organization, Deathcore Wrestling in May of this year?"
"Yes."
"Is it true that Deathcore was an organization that hired convicted murderers and even praised their crimes?" Larry smirked, asking.
"Objection, your honour!" yelled the District Attorney. She definitely wasn't as beautiful as our favourite DA, SVU's Rafael Barba. She was a mousy-looking woman with grey hair and a Hilary Clinton power suit. She glared at Mondae. This woman saw right through her.
"It calls into question the environment that Ms. Devereaux and Ms. Blake were in prior to the alleged crimes." rebutted Mr. McCoy.
The judge pondered for a moment. He was an older man in his late 50's with salt and pepper hair. "I'll allow it. But get to the point McCoy." Larry nodded at Mondae to answer the question.
"Yes. Mr. Fusco, the owner, he hired Sasha Tyton. She had been convicted for murdering her boyfriend and he was convinced she did it. He loved the buzz that it brought the company. Each week there was a group of protesters outside because of Sasha." Mondae sounded meek.
"Now, please tell me what happened on the night of May 29th."
Mondae took a deep breath. This was it.
"On May 29th, we were at a scheduled event at Deathcore Wrestling's arena, which Mr. Fusco liked to call the Slaughterhouse." The judge cringed at this. "Myself and Arianny were in a match against Seth Daniels and we won. After the match Mr. Fusco came out and told us to stay in the ring. All of the victors from that night's results would compete for the Core Championship, like their version of a world title." She knew she had to dumb it down a bit for the jury. "The match was Myself versus Arianny, Gavin Masterson, Jenna Ellis and Gabe McKearns." Just saying his name aloud made her voice crack.
"During the match, Devin Hawk came down to the ring. There had been a rivalry between Gabe and Gavin Masterson, who trained Devin. Devin attacked Gabe and then lured him backstage. What happened after that no one knows." Her voice trailed off for a minute. "I stayed in the match and helped my best friend, Arianny Blake, defeat everyone to become the first Deathcore Champion. After the match, we walked out to the parking lot and," Mondae paused and bit her lower lip.
"Gabe was laying on the ground and there was a puddle of blood around him. Gabe and I had been dating. We were in love and there he was, dead at my feet." Mondae could feel the hot tears welling in her eyes and she blinked, letting them flow down her pale cheeks. She didn't bother to wipe them away, she just sobbed. Looking up and across the room, she saw the warm gaze of her bestie. Arianny nodded slightly and her own eyes showed pain, watching her bestie cry.
"And what happened after that Ms. Devereaux?"
"Honestly, I don't remember. My psychiatrist told me that it was like PTSD. I just snapped. It comes back to me in bits and pieces, but never anything whole." Lie. The tears continued to flow down her cheeks as she sobbed through her lie of a story. "I remember threatening my bestie. I told Arianny that if she didn't go along with my plan, to torch battle arts, to assault Mackenzie Ownys, that I would kill her. I wasn't myself. I would never threaten Arianny. She is like my sister."
Mondae looked up at the jury, her eyes pleading with them for forgiveness. Obviously, Arianny and Mondae had both consented to all of their crimes and Mondae remembered every last second of them. She did snap because of Gabe's murder, but she made every decision that week very carefully. However, when you looked into her sad chestnut eyes, you believed every word coming out of our young Queen's mouth.
"No further questions your honour." Her lawyer nodded to her and sat down. The prosecution had a few cross examination questions. But with Mondae's answer continuing to be that she didn't remember, she didn't really get anywhere. When she was done, Mondae got to her feet and sat down again next to Arianny. Ari immediately reached out and grabbed Mondae's hand. She squeezed it tightly as a sign of support. Mondae slowly wiped the tears from her eyes with her free hand and squeezed right back.
"The defense calls Dr. Elizabeth Robertson to the stand." This was the nail in the coffin, the final witness needed to sway the jury.
A beautiful brunette woman stepped to her feet and began to walk to the stand. Her hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail. She wore a pair of black trousers, a blue button-up the front shirt that made her cerulean eyes pop. Dr. Robertson was beautiful in demure, girl-next-door type of way. She took a seat at the bench and smiled at the jury.
"Dr. Robertson, do you have a history of dealing with patients with Post Tramatic Stress Disorder?" Asked Mr. McCoy
"Yes, I actually specialize in it. I saw the affects that PTSD had on war veterans and I have devoted my life to working with them, I help them to be rehabilitated and re-enter society when they return from active duty." Oh yeah, and she works with war veterans. There is nothing more American than a Dr. who helps the army. That was planned.
"How noble. Can you describe PTSD to the jury?"
"When someone experiences a trauma, which is usually involves a death, or near-death experience, it can cause them mental distress in many ways. The body and mind are basically in a form of shock. They often experience flashbacks and can become quite irritable and angry, causing them to lash out at those around them." Dr. Robertson is the kind of woman that you believe when she speaks. She sounds authoritative.
"Did you diagnose my client, Mondae Devereaux?"
She nodded softly. "I did."
"Can you tell the court what your diagnosis is."
"Mondae Devereaux is an interesting case. She most certainly suffers from a case of PTSD. Finding the body of Gabe McKearns sent her mind into shock. You have to realize, that she is very young. Ms. Devereaux is a teenager and her mind is not developed enough to deal with loss, especially such a violent and brutal one. As with anyone in the court room, if we found the body of our loved ones, we would most definitely go into shock. But at the time Ms. Devereaux was also in a toxic work environment. Police have allowed me to review the tapes of Deathcore Wrestling where it almost seemed like reality was lifted. Dick Fusco ran an awful promotion where he encouraged his employees to go to extremes in order to make a name for themselves. A man attacked Ms. Devereaux with a chainsaw and there was no reprimand. It seemed that this promotion was taking place in an alternate universe. The combination of PTSD and this toxic environment made Mondae experience an acute form of psychosis known as a psychotic break. Basically, this means that she was unable to distinguish between reality and fantasy. She was already placed in an environment where reality was lifted, coupled with her loss, her brain could not distinguish a difference between what was real and what was not. Her conscious mind was not present during the actions that took place. Put simply, she did not know what she was doing."
Damn, this was the best shrink that money/Money could buy. Or Mondae was a very convincing subject, who knew?
"Dr. Robertson, do you believe that Mondae Devereaux should be held accountable for her actions?"
"I think Dick Fusco should be held accountable for Mondae's actions. He created a torturous work environment where no one felt safe. Mondae experienced an extreme loss and it is my professional opinion that she was unaware of the severity of her actions. She was not legally responsible for her actions. I would stake my career on it." Dr. Robertson stared directly at the jury as she said the last sentence. She was clearly disgusted by the actions of Mr. Fusco and his ridiculous company.
"And what about Ms. Blake?" Obviously Mondae and Ari had a plan to get both girls off. And this was it.
"This is something that Ms. Devereaux showed great remorse about. She told me in great detail how she threatened Arianny. She told her that she would kill her and her entire family if she did not comply. Ms. Blake was most certainly under duress." How traumatic it must have been for Arianny to be threatened like that.
"Do you think that she should receive further treatment, or do you think Ms. Devereaux is rehabilitated?"
"I have been personally working with Ms. Devereaux since her arrest. We have made real headway and she understands what she did was wrong. She has also recovered from our psychosis and she is on the mend. Her mind is healthy and now that she has left the toxic environment that is Deathcore Wrestling, I think she should be able to cope fine with the outside world again."
Mr. McCoy smiled, that shit-eating, I-just-won kind of smile. Dr. Robertson was cross examined and continued to defend both Mondae and Arianny's actions. Finally, the prosecution rests. After approximately 20 minutes of deliberating, the jury returned. Mondae and Arianny held onto each other's hands. They squeezed so hard both of them began to lose feeling. They didn't even notice. This was it. They either ended up free women or they would end up behind bars for a long, long time.
The judge asked the jury to read their verdict.
"The jury finds Ms. Arianny Blake and Ms. Mondae Devereaux NOT guilty on all counts."
The world literally lifted off the shoulders of Mondae Devereaux and Arianny Blake. They immediately shot up to their feet. They were free. The mean girls embraced and squealed like teenagers. Their plan had worked and they were acquitted of all charges.
Good luck RSW. Trouble is headed your way.
