♥ Thursday June 30th, 2016 – Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco, California
It was lunchtime and Arianny Blake stood in the lobby of the glamorous hotel Shawn DeLise had set her and the rest of MGM up in. Vendetta was set for later that evening and Arianny couldn’t wait to get back inside of the ring. Not that she would ever admit it out loud, but being a wrestler meant more to her anything else. Despite the fact Shawn was creepy and sleazy, and likely a rapist, he had given Arianny and Mondae another chance to do what they loved. And most importantly, he had made sure they had a place to do it together.
It was thanks to that good mood that Arianny found herself waiting on her mother. Katt Carter was currently on her way to meet Arianny for lunch at The Lounge, which was one of the dining places inside the hotel. In all of her eighteen years, Arianny couldn’t remember a time when her mother had wanted to have lunch with her. The entire situation seemed suspicious to Arianny but nothing could knock her off her pedestal at the moment. She was a free woman now and she was ready to start making people miserable again!
Katt Carter entered The Lounge and scanned the area for her daughter. Arianny was sitting front and center of the nice little restaurant. As usual, Katt’s daughter was the picture of poise and control. Arianny was sitting up straight, with her chin in the air, dressed in an extremely low cut Diane von Furstenberg silk maxi dress. Her perfect blond hair was curled around her shoulders and held in place with two diamond bobby pins on the left side. It was enough to make the former professional wrestler want to throw up. It was no secret that mother actually did despise daughter in this case.
Arianny took note of her mother as she headed towards the table. Despite the drug and alcohol abuse, Katt was still a knockout and had the ability to turn heads wherever she went. The petite blonde was dressed in a pretty, dsrk green colored dress by Dolce and Gabbana that fit her body like a glove and brushed the tops of her knees. Black Jimmy Choos and minimum jewelry completed Katt’s look. Arianny took note that her mother was wearing her obnoxious wedding set again. The amount of bling on Katt’s left ring finger probably cost almost as much as the family’s summer home in the Hamptons. It was ridiculous.
Katt also had a large manila envelope in her hands.
“Mother,” Arianny greeted her as the Maitre D helped Katt sit down. It was only after Katt was settled did she acknowledge Arianny’s presence.
“Marina.”
The exchange was frosty to say the least and it was a good five minutes before either of them spoke. It was Katt who broke the silence because she had been the one to set the meeting up.
“I will make this short for you. Neither of us wish to spend a minute more than we have to with each other.”
Arianny didn’t even flinch. She had a similar feeling.
“Your father and I have been doing a lot of talking, and I’ve finally convinced him to do the one thing he should have done the minute you were born.” Katt actually smiled, a genuine smile, and sat the envelope she had been carrying on the table. “Seeing as your horrible and selfish actions have cost him millions of dollars in clients, endorsements, and business deals he has decided to distance himself from you and your brother, and cut you both off.”
“I’m sorry, what?” Arianny wasn’t sure she had heard that last sentence correctly.
“We’re. Disowning. You.” Katt said it very slow. Why not add insult to injury and speak to your own flesh and blood like they were stupid. “Inside this envelope is what remains of your trust funds, plus various other things your father had put up for you and your brother. Also, the car titles to both of your vehicles are in there. They’re paid for, obviously, but the insurance on them will now be up to both of you to pay. Actually, everything is now solely your responsibility.”
Katt rattled off a list of things but Arianny was barely listening. Her stomach was twisting in knots. Her face was frozen in an expression of pure disbelief. Her heart was beating so loudly it was drowning out the sound of Katt’s voice.
“You have no place to live, so obviously you’re homeless,” Katt continued.
Arianny felt the bile rising up in her throat.
Katt looked so smug at the moment. “Your credit cards have been cancelled. The pathetic salary you made in Deathcore Wrestling, all $8,600 of it, has been moved to a different bank account. You no longer have access to anything belonging to the Blake family. You have no inheritance. And as far as I’m concerned, you are no longer our child. To be fair, you’ve never really been my child, but your father actually loved you in his own way. This whole situation has basically destroyed him. Now I get to sit there and pick up the pieces, so fuck you for that.”
“But you just can’t cut us off…”
“Oh Dallas, isn’t completely cut off. I have put some money and investments away for him. But believe me, Marina, if I find out he has spent a dime of my money on you, he will be worse off than you. He is the only person you love in this world besides Mondae, and I know you don’t want to see him suffer do you?”
When Arianny didn’t reply, Katt smirked. “I didn’t think so.”
Katt stood up from the table. “This has been a long time coming to be frank with you. I never wanted you, period. You’re the reason my career got ruined and I can’t wait to see the real world chew you up and spit you out. Good luck, bitch. You will never make it.”
Arianny closed her eyes and willed herself not to cry. She would never give Katt the satisfaction of seeing her reduced to tears.
“What's left of the life you knew is in that envelop. Whatever clothes, shoes, and accessories you have with you now is all you own. Your father had all your stuff cleaned out and trashed. Your penthouse in Chattanooga has been cleared out. Mondae’s things are being shipped to her. But your stuff got trashed.”
Katt beamed. Her smile was almost identical to Arianny’s and it made the teenager want to die. As Katt went to leave, she decided to make one last parting shot. Tossing her long platinum hair off her shoulders she took a long, hard look at Arianny.
“You'll also never be a real wrestler. You're a joke.”
With that, she spun on her heels and walked off. Arianny watched her go. Every single bit of life and energy had drained from her soul. The perfect rich girl image she loved so much had just been completely shattered. Her entire life had just been taken from her.
Arianny reached for her water glass but she realized her hand was shaking, she folded them both in her lap. Patiently, Arianny waited for the onslaught of anger and rage to hit her.
It never did.
For the first time in her life she was completely numb and Vendetta was just hours away. Somehow she had to collect herself, pick of the pieces of her life, and present herself to the world.
Arianny Blake had no idea what to do.
