FADE IN:
INT. HOSPITAL WARD – SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – JULY 4TH, 2016
Joe DeLise, the founder and chairman of Ready. Set. Wrestle! looks almost peaceful, fast asleep and laying in his bed, minus all the cords and tubes running in and out of his body.
Georgia is sitting at the edge of his bed, holding his hand between hers and watching her father sleep.
She speaks softly, not wanting to wake her father from his sleep.
She stares down at her father's hand.
GEORGIA DELISE (CONT'D)
"And Shawn..."
She squeezes her father's hand as she mentions the name of her brother.
She gives her head a shake.
Joe DeLise's eyes were open.
Her head shot up, and her eyes met the gaze of her father.
He cracked a grin, and Georgia returned a smile.
Joe slowly tried to sit up in bed, as Georgia quickly readjusted his pillows to help.
He leaned his back into the pillows
She nodded her head.
JOE DELISE
“Any obstacle placed in your way in
life, you’ve overcome it, Georgia,
not with help but doing it by
yourself. You never relied on
anybody; you are strong; you are
intelligent, and you deserved this.”
She smiled at that response.
Georgia nods in agreement; it is true, so true.
Georgia tries mimicking her mother's voice. They both laugh.
Georgia travels into her own thoughts.
Joe pats his daughter on the leg.
Georgia gives her father a hug and then stands up.
Joe smiles.

"These people, they are different than
anybody I’ve ever met before. They
are heartless, they are criminals,
they're just awful, father."

"He pretends to be on the same page as
me, but his eyes and manner tell me
another story. He’s trying to ruin
the company, and most of all, he’s
trying to hurt me; destroy me."

against the world.”

“Sorry, Dad, I never meant to wake
you up. How are you feeling?”
JOE DELISE
“Like death.”

“Don't say that.”

JOE DELISE
"Your brother is an idiot, plain
and simple.”

She smiled at that response.
JOE DELISE
“Your brother always thinks he is ten
steps ahead of everybody, but the
fact is, he’s a hundred steps behind.
He’s his own worst enemy, and out of
anybody I've ever crossed paths,
Georgia, your brother, my son, is
the weakest person I've ever met,
mind and body.”

“I used to tell your mom I think
there was a mixup at the hospital
that day. She never liked hearing
it, but deep down, she thought it
too.”

or a white baby.”

JOE DELISE
“Can I give you some advice, Georgia?”
GEORGIA DELISE
“Please do, Dad.”

JOE DELISE
“Not everybody is out to get you. There
are good people in the company,
Georgia. You just need to find them
and align with them, and then you
will figure it all out.”

“I believe in you, Georgia. If I didn't,
I would never've put you in charge,
but I know my little girl will figure
everything out; that's just who she
is.”

GEORGIA DELISE
“I appreciate the words, Dad.”

Joe pats his daughter on the leg.
JOE DELISE
“Now how about you sneak down to the
cafeteria and grab your old man a
slice of cheesecake before the nurse
returns?”

"One slice of cheesecake coming
your way."
