Vendetta was just a few days away and Raven MacDemare was about ready as she could be. She was looking forward to the challenge of stepping inside the ring with Aaron Asphyxia. It was going to be an amazing night as far as the California girl was concerned and she was currently inside her second favorite store ever.
Ulta.
Urban Decay’s new moondust palette was at the top of Raven’s ‘Must Have’ list and thanks to a promotional offer, Ulta was offering five times the points for any UD purchase. With the moondust palette securely in her shopping bag, Raven was milling around and looking at the Stila products.
Beside her was a teenager who was looking at the lip glazes. The other girl didn't think Raven was looking and she slipped two of the glazes inside her messenger bag. Raven turned around so the girl couldn't see her react and walked a few feet away from where she'd just been standing.
“Ohmygod. Ohmygod.”
Raven turned around to see if anyone else had noticed the teenager shoplifting. The store was incredibly busy at that moment and there were no beauty associates around. Raven’s conscience kicked in and she stood there and debated whether or not to go and tell someone what she had seen.
It wasn't her place to get involved. It was the job of the associates to watch for shoplifters. Raven had her own job to worry about. Aaron Asphyxia had said herself that she would be the toughest person that Ravey Mac had faced so far.
She probably was. Raven would never know how she would have fared against the two men because Lord had decided to protect her. Well Lord wouldn't be a factor on Thursday. She would go to the ring and face Aaron alone. Depending on how it went, she would decide what step she would take next.
Raven had no choice but to study stats and tapes. Despite the fact her parents were both wrestlers, she didn't grow up in the business. It never even mattered to her until she had met Lord by accident. Was it a coincidence that three weeks later at a gymnastics meet she had gotten injured and had to quit her sport?
Raven didn't believe in coincidences.
She wanted this opportunity to see if wrestling was for her. She was athletic, flexible, fast and fearless. Shawn DeLise had signed her to a competitive contract for reasons no one could really understand. The least Ravey could do was take advantage of this chance.
Pretending to look at a display of Tarte eyeshadow palettes, Raven watched the shoplifter make her way towards the drugstore brands. Deciding right then and there that she needed some NYX gloss, Raven causally followed. If the shoplifter felt like she was being followed she didn’t show it. But it was Raven. Raven MacDemare made no one nervous. She especially didn’t make tiny, veteran female wrestlers with loads of experience and championships nervous. That fact didn’t bother our beauty vlogger. She wouldn’t expect Aaron to sweat this match. The older woman had the upper-hand over Raven in almost everything. The only thing that could potentially factor in is that Lord wouldn’t be at ringside.
There would be no stoppage or disqualification.
Perhaps if Raven could just outlast her opponent, Aaron would tire out. Statistically, it was possible. Raven wasn’t going to just give in or go away. She was coming to Vendetta for an actual match and a chance to see if wrestling was something she wanted to actually train for and get good at. She had meant it when she told Lord she wanted to be tag team champions with him. They both wanted Mondae and Arianny’s belts.
It dawned on Raven then that her focus was a great strength as well. She wasn't prone to distractions. Gymnastics and cheerleading had taught her that.
Right now she was being distracted by the shoplifter. She needed to make her purchases and get back home even though she knew it was wrong to just let the girl get away with what she was doing. Thinking quickly Raven pulled a few bills out of her purse. She casually walked past the girl and 'accidentally' dropped the money on the ground. It would be up to the teenager to do whatever she wanted with the cash.
Raven couldn't worry about things that she had no control over.
