"Mister Larsen, I've been trying for days to reach you."
The blonde Lauren Thomas who used to serve as the receptionist for Miles Larsen in his last job, showed up to training facility in which Larsen owned. Miles, who sat in an isolated room which he used as an office, turned in his chair with a surprised look on his face.
"Miss Thomas, Lauren, what are you doing here? You know I don't work at the firm anymore."
"You're right, but I've been trying to reach you. Since you took on being an agent for ZERO, I've had numerous people - pro wrestlers - contact the office trying to reach you, to see if you could represent them as well. A miss Hailey Banks has been especially persistent."
"Thank you for seeking me out personally, Lauren, but until I can get ZERO to the level where he belongs, I don't think taking on new clientale would be the best idea. So you can inform miss Hailey Banks that unfortunately right now is a no."
"Mister Larsen, if I may - ZERO had one bad match against someone who's considered a thoroughbred in the wrestling business. ZERO looked incredible in the match and it just came down to a simple mistake. One that I'm sure people make on an occasion frequently. So you shouldn't be too hard on him, or yourself. ZERO still has a victory over Arthur Thomas under his belt and is still ranked number five in the entire company."
Miles looked slightly impressed with Lauren's knowledge on the subject.
"I'm impressed, Lauren. You've done your homework."
"What can I say? I'm a closet wrestling nerd."
"Perhaps you are right, Lauren. Perhaps ZERO did just have a single bad match and he will redeem himself at this coming Vendetta when he steps into the ring with Dallas Blake and Arthur Thomas for the second time. Perhaps the last Vendetta was just a bad night for our amigo underneath the wrestling mask. But Lauren, you've worked with me before and you know that failure isn't an option for me. It never was when I ran the business, and it certainly won't be now that I've put all of my stock into ZERO. The last Vendetta was a test for ZERO, to see how he would fair against the higher level talent within America, and I have to admit I wasn't too pleased with the results. So, with vigorous training starting from the day after the event, all of the way up to the next show - I'm fairly certain that the ZERO we see climbing into the ring against Dallas and Arthur will be a little more determined, and a little more driven."
"Perhaps we can see a bit of the submission work you raved about when we last spoke."
She spoke softly, not wanting to upset Miles by pointing out the obvious. But Miles already knew that if ZERO was to reach the levels he reached in Mexico, he would have to utilize his submission expertise and he just hasn't tapped into that yet.
"Perhaps so, my dear. I have told that to him, if I am being honest with you. Neither of his opponents can withstand a submission very well. Well, I mean, Arthur will probably fall asleep before one can even be attempted - but Dallas isn't an expert submissionist. In fact, Dallas isn't an expert anything. You know, now that I've begun to think clearly about this match and his opponents, I want ZERO to leave Dallas with a matching cast, just like his sister. You know, ultimate form of bonding."
Miles turned, jotting that down in a notebook to remember. He needed to tell that to ZERO later, after his training.
"Use strikes to weaken and damage limbs, then submissions to tear them apart. To end the match. That is the strategy, Lauren. I've gone over this with ZERO and it's just a matter of time before he steps into the RSW ring to execute on the strategy. They both have better technicial training than ZERO, but he's up there with them. Just outmatched by a hairs length. But everything else you can use in the ring to your advantage? ZERO has in spades over them. So combine all of that along with aggression and determination, and what we have is a winning formula this week."
Standing up from his seat, he turned.
"Come, Lauren. Let us discuss this Hailey Banks, shall we?"
