The lights are dimmed, gentle music is playing, and the soft glow of a candle you wish you could smell is glowing near the edge of the scene. Suddenly the lights go off completely. The soft music is turned down. The only thing left is the candle(it smells GREAT by the way). The camera shifts a bit and the candle is doing all it can to illuminate the face of Arthur Thomas.
He is propped up on some pillows looking at the camera. He's ready...
Ready for bed?
"It's the end of the day and I'm tired, which is a fresh feeling for me. I like this feeling. It's a good feeling. Here I am, in bed, ready to close these lids for the night. But first I thought I'd make sure Brightly knew how I was feeling about this match we have. It seems she's awfully concerned with what atmosphere I'm currently residing in. I can promise you this Hanalei, I've not left the earth. I've not taken off in to a metaphorical, or even an actual, flight. I'm right on the ground. Right where I want to be. My feet are exactly where they belong. They're not floating off the earth Hanalei, but they are on a crash course with your ass.
"While you lay around during the day acting like something important in your life isn't about to happen. I put in my hours during the day. It's night time now, time to wrap things up and get my rest. You're too busy playing with paper airplanes and wondering what time my flights are. Which, by the way, I've never flown once. I took a bus from Cleveland to get here. The farthest off the ground I've ever been was probably during my last pick up basketball game."
Arthur leans forward a bit, and grabs the pillow behind him. He fluffs it a bit and flips it to the other side.
"Man, I love the other side of the pillow."
He let's out a yawn.
"Well, that's my cue that my time being conscience is about up for the day. However, I'm far from done. Hopefully I can get all of this out before I get an up close and personal view of the dark side of my eyelids.
"I bet you probably thought I was going to bring up something about what happens to a caterpillar when they come out of a cocoon, didn't you? I don't know why you kept bringing that part up. Like baiting me or something. Probably hoping I would so you could call yourself pest control or something. But while you concern yourself with bugs and toy airplanes I'm still here. Ready to start the rest of my career for the better. You may think this is a game you can brush aside but it's far from that for me. This is my life. My calling. You can deny it. You can refuse to believe it. I really don't care. It's not your opinion that matters to me at this moment. All that matters to me that involves you is how fast I can end you.
"You seem to want to imagine I'm in the clouds, but you're the one with your head there. So while you're up there day dreaming in your fields, I'll be down here. Down here where all the titles will be. Where all the accolades reside. I'm happy down here, I have no plans to go anywhere else. Why would I leave? It's great here! On the ground, where I belong. The only real negative thing about being down here is I'll have to share the ground with you soon. So I plan to put you under it. Then it'll be even better right here, on the ground. Above you. Like I plan to be when Vendetta comes and goes."
Arthur takes a breath and blows the candle out.
