The scene opens for the final time before the next Vendetta. What you see are a row of cars sitting on a hill staring out towards a large body of water. Being that this is California it's very safe to assume this is the Pacific Ocean that you're seeing.
But you don't really care about that, you care more about where he is. Don't deny it. You haven't come this far to simply forget him already.
The camera spins in to the passenger seat of one of the many vehicles out on this lovely night. You're now looking at him. You strain to hear the music coming out of the radio, but before you can make it out he reaches for the knob and turns it to the left.
He wants your full attention.
This is the last sun set Aaros will watch before he steps in the ring with Jace O'Brein. This is the last time Jace O'Brien will ever watch a sun set... Without knowing what it's like to stand toe to toe with the Betrayer of Humanity.
There's no denying it.
Aaros is ready.
Jace O'Brien is ready.
Aaros whitens his knuckles around the steering wheel. He's getting anxious. He doesn't want to wait any longer. He's ready to see if there is a man on this planet who has the nuts to pull the trigger O'Brien has been claiming he will pull.
Aaros will be left disappointed.
The camera makes it's way slightly over the shoulder of Aaros and you see that big orange ball half way down the horizon. Every day there's a fight between the sun and the horizon. The sun seems to always get the early advantage on the horizon but after a long battle? Well after a long hard fought battle the horizon always swallows the sun. At Vendetta Jace O'Brien gets the be the sun. Aaros has claimed the horizon. By the end of it all there will be only one outcome. Only one winner.
Aaros.
Aaros is prepared to take every punch. He's prepared to take every attempt at his life. He's ready for it all and will be there to swallow it up as the horizon does the sun every day. There's only one difference.
The next day, when the sun finally comes back up, Aaros won't be there. He'll have moved on to the next battle. The sun will just be left all alone. No one to fight but himself. No one to threaten but himself. This sun, this Jace O'Brien, his shallow words will mean nothing once Aaros is done with him.
His title. His woman. His life. Will matter no more. Aaros won't be apart of it. Aaros will no longer be around to give Jace's life any meaning. It will just be another loss for him, and a first victory for Aaros. That's how this story goes. It's going to be the same no matter how many times you replay it, and no matter how many times Jace thinks he can figure it out. NOTHING. WILL. CHANGE.
The camera looks down at the right hand of Aaros who puts his hand on the gear shifter and puts the car in reverse. As the camera looks up the very edge of the sun is struggling to peak over the edge of the horizon. Before you even notice it, Aaros speaks.
"Goodbye, Jace O'Brien."
He puts his foot to the gas pedal and like you're being ejected from a fighter jet the camera backs out of the car. As the camera zooms out you can't see the sun anymore.
This fight is over.
