“I present you the future Mr. and Mrs. Aiden Gareth Van’t Hoff!”
The ballroom of the Alexander estate broke into raucous applause as Raymond Alexander presented his beloved daughter Maisi and her fiancé. Aiden did his best to smile and appear genuine but inside he was screaming. As radiant as the couple looked together, dressed to the nines at their engagement party, both of them were faking their joy. Aiden was ready to hightail it to Oxford. The Ole Miss/Alabama game was on his mind, as was Vendetta.
Ole Miss had done the unthinkable the past two years by defeating Alabama. Defeating Alabama the first time had been considered an upset. Ole Miss had shocked the world and the student body had celebrated their five 5-0 start to the season by storming the field and tearing down the goal post. Aiden didn’t remember a lot about that night but somehow a piece of that goal post had ended up inside his apartment.
He still had it. It was his most prized possessions.
Last season, Ole Miss had backed up that win in Tuscaloosa, silencing the most annoying and ugly (like missing teeth, marry-your-cousin type of ugly) fanbase in all of football. However, Alabama itself had said that the Rebels victory had been tainted; the Crimson Tide had defeated themselves.
Obviously.
Aiden needed this three-peat like he needed to defeat Sammi and Bryce on Vendetta. He wanted a chance to fight Violet Van Zant or Zach Knight for the right to face Jace O’Brien for the Bay Area Championship. This was a great opportunity for him, and an entirely unexpected one. It could also be Aiden's last chance since Shawn DeLise was now in power.
“You stopped smiling,” Maisi hissed in his ear as they continued to pose for photos. She was clinging to Aiden’s arm as if her life depended on it. She had the smile of a sinister ice queen. Aiden leaned in, giving off the appearance that he was whispering sweet nothings to the love of his life. “That’s probably because this entire thing is a sham.”
Maisi giggled and playfully slapped Aiden on the arm. “Like you career, darling.”

“When I first got to RSW, I stated that I planned on being the first and only triple crown champion in the company’s history. I boasted about my greatness. I downplayed my opponents’ abilities. I didn’t take my job seriously and so far that has come back to haunt me. Come Vendetta, I’m pressing the reset button. I’m starting fresh. I know that I’m fucking great inside that ring. I took Archer to his limit the other week. What have you done other than win a battle royal, Albright?
You’ve already failed at becoming Bay Area Champion. O’Brien beat you way back when Shoot Saturday was actually a thing. You also failed in your quest to become RSW Supreme Champion. The Mean Girl Mafia took advantage of your lack of intelligence inside the ring and pulled the wool right over your eyes. A win is a win, Bryce. It doesn’t matter if it’s cheap. You were able to eliminate me fairly back at Deception. I won't deny you that, but I won’t let something like that happen again. Sammi and I both have the ability to drag this match out and test your cardio. We'll see if you're actually as good as you claim to be.
Sammi, I know you’ve been dying to hear something, anything, from someone in this match, but I’ve already had plenty to say. I’m not going to sit here and discredit your ability to win this thing because you’re a woman. It’s 2016, not 1954. I’m well aware that women are capable of getting the job done. But no matter what goes on inside that ring, you will be overpowered and outmatched. Your aerial abilities are null and void because I know my way around the ring. I won’t get caught. Your speed may help, but we are quick as well. Remember that. Your win over Genocide was great and all, but a victory over me won't go on your record.
I've never lost in my life, let alone three straight times. I'm focused and I'm going to be Bay Area Champion. Jace, watch your back, brah."
